"Level 2, green ward at AAU, the ..."

About: Watford General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Level 2, green ward at AAU, the day time nurses were very caring and had a great attitude to work.

What could be improved

commication is dire, from each nurse in the wards, nurses to doctors, and department to department. This was shocking from the CT Scan department calling me (the patient) on my mobile to ask why i had been discharged, even though I was lying in a bed in the AAU ward!!

Anything else?

The number of mistakes was shocking, from being listed as a woman on my notes, my notes been lost and the nurse strugging her shoulders saying 'it's nothing to do with me, docs problem'. Asked Nurse what the each drug I was put on was for, she didn't know what the drugs were. Fluid drips left empty for 45 mins with two nurses coming in separatly saying 'oh, it's finished', walking out and no giving me a new one. Nurses took up to half an hour to respond to help when i pressed help button, one on occasion i had to get up from pain whilst in bed, walk to the middle of the corridor and shout, only for the breakfast lady to have to get someone to come and see me. Doctors refused to come back to me despite my situation in pain changing. Was transported to another ward, still in pain, but nurses 'crashing' bed against doors to get to the other ward. Worst experience of my life.
