"Recent visit to AMU"

About: East Surrey Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

I came to the AMU with my wife recently. A doctor fell over, I went to assist the nurse who was clearly distressed, in pain & disorientated. I called for help and a couple of nurses & porters - who had spinal boards ready came to help us. A senior member of staff came over, without offering any assistance or assessing the Doctor, just told her in an aggressive tone to 'get up' off the floor.

Due to poor health myself I am a regular visitor to ESH and I know that there are some outstanding staff who have provided excellent care. I myself struggled to get down on the floor with the Doctor to hold her hand. This senior staff member's care was totally unacceptable & unprofessional. It is staff like them who let down the NHS.

This is the second time I have posted this information on here as I am not at all happy with the response I got & there was no opportunity to reply to the response I got. I hope this time I will get an appropriate response, I also hope that this Doctor made a full recovery.
