"Shambolic"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

Arrived for an appointment in ENT for my daughter at 11am today. At 11.15 am the nurse comes to tell us that there has been an issue with the appointment and the consultant can not see us. I asked the nurse that this appointment has been with us for over a month and you are telling us this now? The nurse advised us that the consultant was actually in, but my daughter was not down to see them even though the letter clearly stated she was and the nurse said that we could see another registrar but we would have to wait another hour. I said it was disgusting that the incompetence of the hospital was unacceptable. The appointment today was to discuss the operation my daughter was going to have and discuss the side effects and how long it would take for her to recover so we could make an informed on if we should go ahead with the procedure. The nurse said " it's not my fault" I asked who I should direct my complaint to then? The nurse asked me to fill a complaint card in and I said that this was an utter waste of time as nothing is ever accepted by the hospital. As we walked out the nurse spoke really loudly in a sarcastic voice and said " thanks a lot then bye " I did not even waste my breath in giving the nurse the satisfaction of rising to their sarcastic tone. This hospital is an utter joke.... no structure.... cancelled appointments... mis- diagnosis I could go on and on. Last year I hurt my elbow and went to Accident and Emergency and was told there was nothing wrong with my elbow. I returned the following week still in pain to be told I had dislocated my elbow and had 2 fractures.... can you believe that? This is just a sample of my dealings with B.R.I.... never again!!
