"Superb trauma care"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

Having detached by quadriceps tendon, I was admitted to Lister ward. So many people saw me between my mission and my operation, but I could see that it was very joined up, and that people were making an enormous efforts to ensure that the care given was off highest quality. Despite being rushed off their feet, staff were pleasant, and very caring. Everything was well explained, and I was given many opportunities to ask questions. Post operative care - I have attended the first appointment and the consultant was very helpful and patient. The only (very minor) suggestion is - please give printed instructions on adjusting the leg brace to patients prior to leaving the hospital. My treatment was a classic example of the NHS at it's very best.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience of our orthopaedic department. We are very proud of our teams and know that they work hard every day to provide the best care possible for our patients. It is always nice to hear that our care is meeting the standards we strive for and the teams will be delighted to read your comments. Our patient information lead and the sister from our trauma outpatient department will work on developing instructions for the leg braces - thank you for bringing this to our attention. Thank you again for your comments and may we wish you a speedy recovery.
