"Everyone treated my 14 year old ..."

About: The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore)

(as a relative),

What I liked

Everyone treated my 14 year old daughter with kindness and respect. The level of care was exemplary. They were genuinely caring- from the surgeon's team, the staff on HDU, the nurses and healthcare assistants on the ward and the physios. All were very professional. The ladies who brought the food were lovely and asked how my daughter was whenever l saw them. The porters would smile and chat to my daughter to put her at ease on the way to X-Ray or theatre. They made the stay a very positive experience for us both.

What could be improved

The level of care is far higher than the standard of some of the buildings but l fully appreciate this is a matter out of your control. However could something not be done about the walkway between Coxen Ward and HDU/X Ray Dept? It is not a smooth surface for those who have just had a operation as we found out on one particular journey.

Anything else?

The staff were professional and caring- they cannot be faulted!

Thank you for your positive feedback on your daughter’s recent stay at the hospital. It is much appreciated and we will pass on your comments to relevant staff. Some of the floors in the hospital are scheduled for resurfacing which will, we hope, improve patient journeys around the hospital.
