"Excellent Matron but Poor Communication from..."

About: Lister Hospital

The Matron was excellent, I cannot praise them enough. Nothing was too much trouble even though they constantly had people at him all the time. They did their very best to keep me informed and updated as getting information from the medical staff was impossible. They seemed to do their best to avoid having to speak with patients and their families, not just me as I saw this with other patients and families too. Everything seems to stop at the weekend, with hardly any doctors about and no progress made with anything. There doesn't seem to be many nurses about either. The urgent follow-up appointment still hasn't materialised. I was in AMU and SSU. I think some money needs spending on SSU, a coat of paint and some decent curtains round the beds at the very least as it looks dreadful, especially going there from AMU.

Thank you for your feedback, which we will make sure gets shared with the relevant staff, including the matron covering both the Lister's acute medical unit (AMU) and short stay unit (SSU). We'll also feedback your comments about the medical staff too. Thanks again for getting in touch and we hope that you're now feeling better following your recent admission.
