"Nearly two years since my Dad's last check"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

My Dad has been seriously ill, he is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer and has also in the past year had a series of TIA's / mini strokes.

He has a heart condition too and needs yearly checks, however the East Surrey Hospital in Redhill keeps cancelling them and now they have offered him one in October, nearly two years after his last check!

So not only do we have all the other bits to worry about, we now are also very concerned about his heart too! His doctor and team do not seem to care.

HI Cathy

We have done that and the lady was most helpful, but it has taken so long to sort this out. She has tried her best and she did manage to get Dad an appointment for mid July, but it is still a few weeks away and considering he has been very ill I am very dissatisfied. The attitude from Dads heart specialists team really does stink as it was only our badgering and the PALS lady also trying that they finally offered him something, other than that they said if he felt ill to go to A&E! So he is now (as long as they do not cancel it again) going to have his check up on a major organ which we know is not functioning properly, very late, when it is meant to be yearly! Lets hope there is nothing extra wrong!
