"Excellent Care & Treatment"

I had pancreatisis and was fortunate enough to get a cancellation for gall bladder surgery after being rushed to Chase Farm A&E twice in 2013. The A&E staff were caring and quick to move me to a side room when my blood pressure went through the roof! When I was admitted staff were friendly and the surgeon took time to explain everything. Although I was due for a day release op, I had to stay for several days due to other health issues which were aggravated by the surgery, but the surgery itself went well and the doctors, nurses and support staff were wonderful especially considering how busy they were and the amount of patients they had to cope with! Since then I have been back for an MRI scan (2014) and X-Rays (2015) and as usual the receptionist, doctors and nurses have been exemplary. Absolutely devastated that the A&R Dept has closed as I had awful experiences at the other local hospital in the past as has everyone else I know then and now!! Chase Farm has had a lot of unwarranted bad press yet every time I have visited over the years both as a patient and a visitor, I have found the wards spotless and the staff cheerful and helpful. Considering how busy the A&R Dept was I was stunned that closure was even an option! Now they intend to knock it down to build a smaller hospital - really don't know who makes these decisions but they really do not have a clue as to how important Chase Farm is to the local community.
