Like most people who use have used private hospitals, you get used to what is expected of them, unfortunately this hospital falls below of all expectations. I had to undergo a small operation which I was told would be day surgery, with my insurers picking up the bill. I received a medical history form in the post asking me to complete it and send it back. Guess what? No pre-payed envelope to start with. It's a small detail but this is where private hospitals should excel. I was told that I would receive contact within 48 hours of my planned operation day to confirm timings. so when I received a call at 6 pm the night before to be told of the time I was a little bit shocked. Clearly the clerical staff either have too much work to do or are being misguided. No porter on arrival to show you to your room like other private hospitals in the area. If a service provider states they will do something and I am paying for it (indirectly through insurance) I expect to receive it. The building work is unfortunate and I wonder if this is affecting cleanliness standards within the building? I accept that the hospital is a revenue stream for a company and can't be closed down whilst it is taking place but I am dubious as to whether ongoing checks are taking place. I can't comment on their NHS work as I have only used the private facilities here, however if you have the choice and transport I would recommend sticking to the main largest provider in South Manchester....... especially when their new state of the art site opens in Didsbury.
