"the staff and nurses who were ..."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

(as the patient),

What I liked

the staff and nurses who were helpful and caring though not all come in to that category

What could be improved

comunication between patient and nurses and indeed between nurses,it was sometimes impossible to understand the nurses and even doctors because of the unfamiliar accents.some older patients who had hearing problems got quite upset being misunderstood or failing to understand what was being asked of them .this really does need addressing.Waiting for tests, scans etc whilst an in patient is scandelous.5 days for a scan in my case.the food is still an issue but then apparently not because in the local papers I see that it is excellent according to a report.try telling that to patients who get white warm bread called toast that when questioned staff tell you is the way queens toast comes.also if patients cannot feed themselves leaving porridge by their bed and returning 15mins later to feed them does not enhance the flavour or consistancy of the meal

Anything else?

I had the misfortune to have to be readmitted by ambulance twice more after being sent home haveing been stabilised?this was after being at home for only 2days on each ocassion then haveing to call paramedics as i could not breath and was suffering heart failure. probably i would say i was being sent home too early or nobody actuall listens to what the patient is saying.a few of the nursing staff and other workers i came across were unhelpful and indeed quite rude, you could hear some openly discussing what they would say if questioned about a problem with a patient or their relativeso as to get the story right.also on bluebell which the ward iwas in for 4weeks in total why if it is the respiratory ward as i was told,is there no oxygen in the bathrooms so those of us who could wash ourselves did not have to starve ourselves of oxygen then suffer the consequences
