"The maxillofacial doctor who I ..."

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The maxillofacial doctor who I saw in A&E after falling, cutting my lip badly, fracturing a bone in my face and and knocking out several teeth, was caring and patient and did a good job. She treated me even though it was supposed to be her sleeping time and was reassuring to me and my partner.

What could be improved

I had to wait for a long time in A and E - I was given a painkiller and some cotton wool early on but then was not seen for about three hours. I appreciate my situation was not lifethreatening but there were many other people who were seen first, which was quite frustrating when I did see the doctor and she said that time was of the essence when trying to put back teeth. Also no-one had told the maxillo-facial doctor I was there. She happened to see me on the list and that I had a jaw injury, otherwise I would have been waiting even longer.

There was some kind of mixup with my name too and they had me down under a different name which possibly did not help me to get seen!
