"Breast reconsturction after cancer, is not..."

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

The rating is for the breast clinic/reconstruction department, not the whole hospital... This is fact and happened to me. My left breast had the cancer and a lumpectomy was performed. I want my left breast reconstructed with tissue and fat from my stomach and lift the right breast so they are symmetrical. I was informed that would not be done under the NHS as it is cosmetic. It is no and I knew it.. My GP looked into it for me and guess what.....It is not cosmetic surgery and to be done on the NHS as part of your reconstruction. Don't believe everything they tell you, research it and see your GP. It is your body and what ever operation you want, research it thoroughly, read about the risks and stick to what you want. Don't be told what to do with your body.
