About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

The consultant oncologist was at best rude and uncaring. They made a difficult time very distressing. I was made to feel like a piece of meat, ignoring questions and not giving information that was needed. Only mc millan and a research Dr persuaded me to go ahead with treatment at all. I cried through every radiotherapy appointment for a week without one word from the staff. Two receptionists would have better placed in a local government office. I sincerely hope they are never on the receiving end of their attitude .parking took up to 1 1/2 hours so don't bother trying to get anyone disabled there either The second to worst experience in my life, the worst was giving birth at the same hospital 25 years ago . So sad when Glenfield hospital just up the road was faultless :(

Dear reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We are really sorry to hear about your experience of our Oncology department at the Royal. Your experience does not reflect the level of care we expect our patients to receive. We would like to look into your concerns further so we can improve our service for future patients. If you are happy for us to do so, please email your details (name, address, date of birth and hospital number) to me: michael.nattrass@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. Kind regards, Michael Nattrass Deputy Head of Operations for Cancer Services Leicester's Hospitals
