The GP identified a small growth on my leg and referred me to a consultant dermatologist at Calderdale Hospital. A week later I was in the clinic, having waited no more than ten minutes to see the consultant. The examination was clear and thorough and they arranged to remove the growth two weeks later. Today I returned to the hospital for the minor surgery. Again, the waiting time was minimal. Present in the room with the consultant were two friendly and helpful nurses who explained what was to happen. The painless minor operation and biopsy lasted about half an hour. Afterwards, I was advised about follow-up procedures. In all, a good experience at the hands of dedicated professionals.
