My sister was admitted via a and e. I telephoned to find out what was happening and was put through to central admissions. The person answering the phone just said she's in an assessment area, reeled off a telephone number and hung up. This person needs retrained. They are dealing with relatives who could be distressed. A little courtesy goes a long way. Allow the caller to say thank you and goodbye. It's all it takes.
