"The best care I have ever received at a hospital"

About: East Surrey Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was rushed into East Surrey hospital by ambulance suffering from the worst pain imaginable. Mr Monkhouse lead a team that looked after me and provided the best care I have ever received at a hospital.

All the nurses, especially in Brockham ward, and doctors were superb. Above all, I want to thank Mr Monkhouse, who is by far the finest doctor I have had the privilege of knowing. Without his care, responsiveness and commitment I do not think I could have got through the ordeal. He is a brilliant surgeon and an even finer person.
