"I still wish to see my usual psychologist"

About: Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Working age mental health care (community)

(as the patient),

I had been seeing a psychologist for a long time now she has move to a different area I can no longer see her, she is still nearer to me than the one they have sent me and they have no one there to help me as it is a man.

I still wish to see my usual psychologist as I trust and can talk to her about anything she also knows about my history.

Them not letting me see my psychologist is hurting me and making me worse as they are making her dead to me so my suicidal thoughts are there most the time. I think that you should be able to continue with the same psychologist if they are near to you.

I am really sorry that no one has answered this post for so long. The Trust realises this is not good enough and we are sorting out a new system to make sure it does not happen again.

I am also very sorry that moving from the psychologist you trusted had such a terrible impact on you and did not seem to make sense. If this is still a problem please get back in touch through this site or call our PALS team who will be able to help now 0300 304 2198 or get in touch by email pals@sussexpartnership.nhs.uk

Update posted by t-smiler (the patient)

I have tried group therapy, but I couldn't talk and brought my stress levels even higher.

I have had CBT for 12 sessions I just felt comfortable with the therapist who help me a bit then left.

I am now seeing a psychologist for 6 sessions which I have 4 more. I have not been able to talk to as yet, and know the psychologist will leave soon also

I still want to see my old psychologist for 8 sessions as she has help me the most I trust her and talk to her and they will not let me, I know she will be able to help me and I will not need any sessions to get to know her.

I really need to see her as not doing so really hurts me.

They are all against me by not letting me see her and get the help I need.
