After ringing 111 ( it was a bank holiday so couldn't go to our own doctors) they offered an appointment at the Norwich community hospital for my 80 year old mother who was suffering very badly from what I thought looked like an ulcer on her lower leg. She was in extreme pain and the 'sore' was leaking pus and blood plus her leg had a 'very angry' red section about 6x4". She had a plaster on it (which I got from my pharmacy, but it was leaking from the plaster ) after telling the nurse what happened and that I was worried that I didn't want infection to go into her 'steel knees' the nurse did give her a prescription for antibiotics (which I was grateful for) but I was not at all happy when after asking the nurse on 3 seperate occasions for them to please clean and redress my mums wound they refused saying this hospital is not equipped to deal with that!! I had to then go to a pharmacy to buy some dressings and clean and change them myself. I now wish I had gone straight to nnuh a & e as I know they would have helped my elderly mother better.
"Wouldn't listen!"
