About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

My wife had a fall and badly hurt an ankle. Physio refused treatment until X-rayed, and we went without a referral. Checked in within five minutes, seen in triage in another five, x-rayed after 1/2 hour and seen by duty doctor within the hour, with appropriate advice. All complete in 2 hours, and very satisfactory. Had to go back 2 weeks later as condition did not improve - very similar story with another doctor, plus advice on crutches, home treatment and which support to buy for subsequent few weeks. Clearly the standard is constant, staff attentive and knowledgeable and friendly. Won't believe what newspapers write in the future about the NHS.
