"they make it difficult for new patients"

About: St Bartholomew's Hospital

I have been a patient of the Heart Hospital which has now been moved to Barts. Tried to find the consultant who looked after me - not listed.Neither is the clinic, the Grown-Up Congenital Heart Disease clinic. After that it is not surprising that it is impossible to find the service manager for this clinic or the secretary to the consultant. Why? All these were easily available on the UCLH website. Spent half an hour to find out the arrangements for hospital transport,I am disabled and live very far. Could not find it although I tried every imaginable search term. Why?Again, the same information is easily available on the UCLH website where Heart Hospital used to belong to. The transfer has been on the cards for a long time,Barts had time to update their website, they just did not bother. As for helping their disabled patients, it does not seem to feature on their list of things to do. Why? Recently I have read a lot of negative comments about Barts,I am getting to see the reason why.

Dear MLewis We are sorry to hear that you were unable to find the information you need through our website. Following the recent move of services to the Barts Heart Centre, we recognise that the information on our website is not fully comprehensive and does not meet the needs of our patients. We continue to work on this. Throughout the move of services we worked closely with UCLH on information about the move and the information was added to our website at the begining of May and can be found here www.bartshealth.nhs.uk/our-hospitals/st-bartholomew%E2%80%99s-hospital/barts-heart-centre/ A full consultant A-Z is currently being developed which will be live over the coming months. In the interim, should you need to contact the consultant that looked after you, you can find a contact list for our Heart Centre consultants on our website here www.bartshealth.nhs.uk/our-hospitals/st-bartholomew%E2%80%99s-hospital/barts-heart-centre/contact-details/ or alternatively please contact Rita.Inweregbu@bartshealth.nhs.uk or call Rita on 020 3765 8605. We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused. We really value your feedback and take into account all of the issues you have raised here to make the needed improvements to our site. Kind regards Barts Health NHS Trust
