"Good clinical care but no compassion"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

I was admitted this week due to an internal bleed.Clinical care was good but no compassion in my opinion.Staff were overstretched and at times ignored me so glad I was only there for 2 days.If this was my first experience it would have been a negative one which is sad as it could be so much better I am not fussy but meals awful, glad to be home. Michael Frost Department was Digestive Diseases

Dear Mr Frost, Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us have your comments. I am pleased to see that your clinical care was good but equally sad to read that that you found staff to have no compassion and that the food was awful. I will pass on your comments to both the medical and nursing leads for Digestive Diseases, as well as our catering manager. If you would like to let us have any further details about your experience in the hospital, please do not hesitate to contact us via pals@bsuh.nhs.uk. I do hope you are now recovering well. Best wishes, Andrew Harvey Patient Advice & Liaison Service Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals
