I've just had an anterior cervical discectomy and was on ward H7 for my recovery. I can only say in my experience the service provided was exceptional. Right through from the surgeon and their secretary, without whose help I still would be waiting, right through to everyone associated with my treatment. It is a very worrying time going in hospital for surgery, but witnessing the care and attention given by all concerned certainly helped me cope better with my worries. There are far too many individuals to name here but everyone who dealt with me were courteous, and professional - nurses and anaesthetic team were compassionate/reassuring. My assigned nurse in recovery, thorough and calming. Even the member of staff who came round the ward with menu requests was excellent. I've just remembered the visits from the registrars after surgery and of course the physiotherapist who visited, and porters, cleaners etc... What I can say is that my experience was something I'd liken to an orchestra performing, if one piece was missing it wouldn't sound quite right, everyone had their parts to play and all led by the conductor, in this case Prof. I fully intend emailing certain people over the next few days just to express a few thanks, but as whole please accept this as my token of satisfaction to all, hope it doesn't sound too cheesy, but I am grateful of all the care received.
