Let me begin by saying that my pregnancy began as a twin pregnancy, at a scan it was discovered that one of our twins hadn't made it, I was, as you can imagine, devastated. The team dealt with a very difficult & upsetting situation with grace and sincerity. To add to this, I was sexually assaulted in my teenage years & despite being married to a kind & loving partner I still have flashbacks which made it very difficult for Docs & midwives to examine me. Our son was born via c section & I received the most wonderful care from all the staff and consultants. It was with a very heavy heart that I left Winchester Royal Hospital as I felt that we had been on such an amazing journey together. I couldn't rate the hospital enough, please have no concerns, this place is incredible. I was under a team and I had a wonderful midwife assistant who takes bloods, urine samples & gets you checked in when you're in for scans/apts. I was absolutely terrified, I had nightmares about how I would manage to give birth. The team helped me every step of the way. I also spoke to a member of staff who helped with my fears re examination, we spoke in length about my assault and this really did help me with my worry and fear. I would go back in a heartbeat, a fantastic team of professionals.
"a wonderful experience"
