My father in law was admitted to hospital on 13th May having being diagnosed with Septsis, he was seen by a Consultant in the Resuscitation Room on arrival, we were told that he was critically ill and may not survive. Over the next five days he was admitted to Medical Asses net Unit and laterly Ward 22. Throughout this time our family was allowed to stay by his bedside 24 hours a day. We were all very impressed with the high standard of care offered to him by dedicated, hardworking Doctors and Nurses, who tended his every need. The Consultant in the Resuscitation Room was absolutely wonderful in their approach to the patient and the manner in which they delivered the terrible news, this Consultant was very caring and explained in clear terms to us the dire situation. On each of the Wards he was placed in a side room to allow dignity in his final days of life. Our family as very impressed with the manner in which staff offered us drinks/food vouchers for the Restaurant and free car parking for up to seven days. We have special praise for the Staff Nurse and a locum Nurse on Ward 22, despite the dire situation these staff members kept our spirits high and provided excellent care and attention to my father in law and our family. In his final hours of life we were again very impressed with the care given to him, he was regularly washed, and checked for his general comfort, ensuring he was not in pain or discomfort. Sadly my father in law died in the early hours of 19th May, the staff on duty that night treat him with great dignity and provided family members with comfort and support. My family would like to,express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all staff at the Hospital involved in the treatment and care of my father in law, we very genuinely overawed by the dedication, commitment , hard work by staff members. Thank you so very very much!!!
"Excellent Work"
