"Abolutely marvellous!"

About: Leighton Hospital

I went for a bowel screening appointment and was seen by the nurse, who put me at my ease and explained everything fully, they also organised transport, as I needed a mild anaesthetic and am the only driver in the family. On the day of my screening, we were picked up promptly at 7.15am, the driver was very friendly and were transported to Leighton, they even took us up to the ward. We booked in and were asked to wait for a few minutes but almost immediately, I was taken to be prepped by a lovely nurse. I then waited a short while before being taken through to the examination room, to the consultant and their team, who were all very friendly and put me at my ease, and the examination was performed. I was then taken to a recovery room and told that my results were good. I got dressed and was given coffee and toast, which was the best I had tasted for a while! I then returned to my wife and the already waiting transport driver and was taken home. The whole procedure experience was excellent and worked like clockwork, with no hitches whatsoever. All staff knew their role and performed it to perfection. The care even extended to the following Monday morning, with a follow up phone call from the nurse to see how I had been over the weekend. If you are going to have to go through this procedure, then don't worry, these people are all true professionals.
