What I liked

Calm, efficient and professional attention by all staff who made the effort to explain my treatment and the sequence of events at all stages of my hospital stay.

What could be improved

Under the circumstances, not much, although there is an assumption that patients have been in hospital before and are therefore familiar with the routine.

Anything else?

I have only recently discovered this feedback facility and so I decided to wait until the end of my twelve month heart attack after care, before submitting these comments. I can honestly say that my first ever experience in 56 years as a hospital in-patient under the care of the NHS could not be better.

From the moment that I was admitted to Harefield Hospital for an emergency angioplasty, through to the subsequent aftercare and follow-up appointments, I have received no less than exemplary treatment. I remain impressed by the professionalism of all members of staff and very much appreciate their caring attitude for what must be, to them, a fairly routine procedure. At all times I felt that I was being treated with the utmost respect and as a valued individual.

I have no connection with the NHS other than as a user of the service and felt strongly that in a society that is increasingly quick to criticise and slow to praise, that it was important to make the time to express these views and I would be grateful if you would ensure that these comments are passed on to all of those involved in my care. I would have no hesitation in recommending Harefield Hospital's cardiac unit to anyone in need of such services.

PS I enjoyed the food too.
