"Endoscopy day care hospital unit"

Went to the Endoscopy unit today for procedure to have camera down to look at inside of the oesophagus and stomach. Have been worried for past five weeks about this after hearing bad reports from friends in other areas. The team who treated me were excellent- so reassuring especially the member of staff who escorted me to the room. I opted for sedation which I would recommend as I did not experience any problems- in fact I just woke up in the recovery room not being aware of anything that happened. I have given my review 5 stars because apart from one nurse I could not mark them down but the reception nurse did nothing to put me at ease. During the taking of my details I asked about procedure and was told I would retch all the way through even with sedation! This member of staff did not smile throughout or greet me when taking me in. Broomfield you should look at inititial reception nurse- what a difference to the rest of the excellent team. This did nothing to calm my nerves only made me more anxious during my wait. Just what I didn't want. Perhaps I was unlucky to get them!
