I am writing this on behalf of my wife. She attended the LGH in Sep 2014 following a problem of PMB. She had a procedure on 16th of October the results of which she received on 5th November informing her she would be required to take medication and return in 4 months. On checking the medication (tablets) she read in the instructions that this medication was not suitable for anyone who had a history of breast cancer. My wife has had breast cancer, although a number of years ago. This information was recorded on her notes. She rang the gynaecological clinic asking for advice. She was told not to take the medication and return for a follow up on 4th March 2015. She attended LGH on 4th of March where further biopsies were taken. She was informed that she would receive a letter within two weeks, and would also require a scan. Nothing happened for 5 weeks so she rang the hospital to be told they didn't have results from the consultant. She did however get a scan on 15th April. She rang again on 14th May to be told her scan results were ok, but there was no definite answer regarding her biopsy taken on 4th March, and in all probability it would take another three weeks for confirmation. My wife is someone whom feels the NHS do a fantastic job and appreciates the pressure staff are under. In fairness to her I do feel that having to wait over 2 months for confirmation, bearing in mind her previous history, is not really acceptable.
