What I liked
Some really hard-working, dedicated and friendly staff who really helped me to recover after two major operations within the space of ten days. Specialist support for bowel cancer patients both before my hospital stay and after my discharge from hospital. Food much better than anticipated. High level of cleaning took place both daily and weekly.
What could be improved
Some staff, (particularly agency staff on night shifts) were sometimes off-hand and could make you feel like you were being a nuisance. This contrasted sharply with the way you were treated by day/regular staff.
Meals all came in a single portion size. The opportunity to order a half portion would have been welcome so it didn't seem like you hadn't eaten anything.
Anything else?
Parking is expensive for many visitors though there are season tickets available for those visiting long term patients on a regular basis.
