"Needing a TURP"

About: Monklands District General Hospital / Urology

(as a relative),

Briefly, urine retention, saw GP, who pH urologist, sent to A&E. No urol. avail, catheter fitted by A&E consult. 10days later saw urol. nurse. 13WEEKs later saw urol consult then 11WEEKS later had TURP. During My 24wks had many infections and catheter changes but treated as trivial complaint.

could have been improved by treating the patient, not the condition.

Dear 22owen,

I was sorry to hear of your relatives' experience. We do endevour to treat everyone within the most appropriate time scales and I am disappointed to see that you felt these issues were treated as trivial complaints. I would be grateful for the opportunity to look into this in more detail and see how we can improve on this. Please call our patient affairs department on 01236-713065
