"X Ray reception staff need attitude adjustment"

About: Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital

I have always had an excellent opinion of this hospital when I've had to bring relatives for appointments. Today I attended the x ray clinic without an appointment after my GP told me it was a drop in service which turned out to be incorrect. I can only describe the attitude of the member of staff on the x ray reception as snooty and unhelpful. I was given the wrong information which was not my fault but was made to feel like it was. And they were less than forthcoming in giving me the information I needed to arrange my appointment. This really surprised me as the service here has always been excellent but today's experience was not of the standard I have come to expect.

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your last visit to Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital and please accept our sincere apologies for the way you were treated at reception. The X-Ray service is actually run by Medway NHS Foundation Trust but the X-ray reception staff are managed by our service lead in charge of the Minor Injury Unit. Your feedback has been forwarded onto her and she is currently investigating which member of staff was on duty on Sunday so that appropriate action can be taken to address their behaviour.
