"Hello my name is..."

I was an inpatient for 15 days on Cringleford ward last month. I was cared by various NHS trained nurses, Agency nurses, Health care assistants, and student nurses.

But only the handful of staff who were there managed to introduce themselves to me. Some Health care assistants came to check my blood pressure and never said a word until they left my room. Some trained nurses came to my room and adminstrated IV antibiotics, IV fluids without any introduction or asking who I am or how I was and without any explanation of what they were administrating into me.

This made me feel very unsafe, frightening and uncomfortable. I thought we are in 2015 now, all NHS staff must have heard about the "hello my name is .." campaign. Obviously lot of staff on Cringleford ward haven't.
