I can't thank the staff at Walsall manor enough. My waters broke on the Sunday morning and I was asked to go in. From triage I was taken to be induced and straight away was put at ease by one of the Drs and midwives. We were kept informed of what was happening and the likely timescales of things. From there I was moved to a delivery room and looked after by the midwives and later on a student nurse, what absolute gems all of them. They were like immediate friends and although they were doing a job they will always hold an important place in my heart for being so friendly and lovely. Then I met with the anaesthetist what a lovely person so efficient and calm - again explaining everything. From there ( after some hours ) I needed a C section this was discussed and explained by the midwife and straight away I was moved to theatre. The consultant doing the op and their team of people were simply brilliant. I was so nervous and they were all so professional and efficient, I don't remember much of the op as I was so tired but I remember hearing one of them shout this baby is colossal ( ha ha made me laugh ). Afterwards I was moved to the foxglove ward equally the staff were very lovely. My only only criticism would be as a new mum I really struggled my second night for my baby to latch on and perhaps on reflection given my baby cried all night an option to give her some formula might have been a good idea. Only because I was exhausted and my baby was clearly hungry, I do appreciate though that breastfeeding is encouraged. Equally the staff who came round with the meals were friendly. Can't thank everyone enough as we now have our beautiful baby girl. Also my scar from the c section is minimal and healing nicely and it's only a week later !!
