I recently had a small bowel resection. From my first appointment on referral through to my discharge from Ward E2 and to my follow-up consultancy today I was treated at all times with respect, kindness and excellent diagnostic, surgical, medical and professional health care. The support services deserve mention too: the quality and quantity of the food was good; the cleanliness of the ward, consulting rooms and general areas was excellent; administrative arrangements worked faultlessly; and I had no complaint about the general facilities management and maintenance. In conclusion, what impressed me above all was the the sense imparted to me that I was important, that the staff were there for me and my well-being, and that my treatment and recovery was all that mattered - no mean feat given the workload and pressures carried by all the staff. My grateful thanks goes to all who were part of my care. I feel very privileged that I was fortunate enough to be looked after in QA Portsmouth.
"Excellent treatment and care"
