About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

I was admitted to QEHB for spinal surgery in October 2015. Whilst my admission could have been better once I was in hospital I was treated with respect and dignity throughout my week long stay. There were occassions I needed to prompt staff to wash their hands and draw the curtains around my bed prior to undertaking nursing duties, including the removal of a catherther - the sister couldn't quite grasp the idea that I wanted them to wash their hands and close the door and draw the curtains before undertaking this procedure. I was moved to another ward within the hospital following surgery and found the ward staff didn't really have a clue how to manage my care but they were helpful
