"I was at RSCH for over 3 weeks ..."

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was at RSCH for over 3 weeks first at St Catherines ward and then a week in Shere (Maternity) ward after a emergency c-section.

The Midwife and nurse staff were very nice and helpful.

The wards were very clean.

What could be improved

I was dissapointed with the Shower/Bathing facitilties within the St Catherine ward area these were very poor and very old too, the shower was held up by elastic band. Because the facilties were old they felt dirty too.

The toliets facities within the wards were in need of updating too, they sinks were so small and taps constantly running, although these toliets were very clean and spacious.

Anything else?

Staffing levels...the nurses and midwives on St Catherines ward & Shere were lovely, helpful, caring and doing a great job, but VERY VERY over stretched, which is not the staffs fault..you would have to wait a long time for assistance and felt like you were using too much of there time once they arrived to help you.

The staff levels definalty need to be increased within the Catherines & Shere wards area!!
