"Patient Care in ICU"

About: University Hospital Ayr / General Medicine

(as the patient),

I was admitted to ICU, Ayr Hospital with severe acute gallstone pancreatitis. I was there for 2 weeks and the care and attention I received was first class. We hear to often about bad experiences so I would like it noted that there are some excellent nursing staff in the organisation.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Meg65

I will definitely pass this to the ‘excellent nursing staff’. Thank you so much for contacting Patient Opinion with your experience. I have seen many patients with gall stones and kidney stones and to be honest, it looks like an extremely painful thing to suffer from so I hope you are completely recovered now.

Kind regards

Eunice
