While reading the letter that was sent out with details of my appointment, I realized a few things.
First being that clinics have not taken any consideration for those mental illness such as anxiety or simply just people that do not feel comfortable talking on the phone. All you give people to contact you is phone numbers after phone number, but yet this is the only Email I could find. I am sure I am not the only person that would rather contact or be contacted over email, instead of awkward phone calls, which make people nervous to even pick up the phone. I think this is somehing really important that should change, when clinics should give the option of contacting over email or phone.
I also understand that CAMHS is a very busy place but if you miss an appointment you should be at least contacted to see if your okay and why you couldn't make it instead of just canceling all future appoints with the person. We all have are bad days and when you are dealing with human beings that are suffering from all different mental health problems, it is extremely important that you remember that! There are days we simply can't get out of bed cause we see the world too cruel.
Does that mean we should get help? Some things are out of are control, just because we can't fake smiles any longer, does that mean we no longer get sympathy?
