"Mixed review but Critical Care Unit is outstanding"

About: Salford Royal

My brother was admitted to ward B7 With a bleed on his brain. The staff were not nice and had no time for my brother. Certain members of staff gave us wrong information regarding my brothers condition. Really would hate to end up on that ward myself. Then my brother took a turn for the worst and was transfered to Critical Care, as a family we could not express just how truly amazing all of the staff are on the unit. My brother could not have been in better hands. We were constantly updated on everything that was happening with my brother, the unit was spotless clean, the reception staff are very lovely people, I could go on and on! My brother is slowly recovering and we are looking forward to going back to visit the staff and thank them for everything they did for him and us as a family. The Critical Care staff are all angels. My brother was then transfered to ward L3 were the staff were very helpful and caring, nice clean ward and good meals to aid recovery.

We are sorry to hear that not all of your brother's experiences of Salford Royal were positive ones. Our aim is to ensure we provide exceptional care in all of our wards and departments. Your comments will be passed onto the senior nursing teams in these areas. We would encourage you to provide us with more details of your concerns regarding your brother's care, please can we ask that you contact our PALS service on 0161 206 2003 or email them directly on pals@srft.nhs.uk so we can look into this further.
