As a Health Professional myself for 20 years I have only stayed in hospital over night when I had my daughter, so I was understandably nervous prior to my recent hysterectomy. However from the moment I had investigations and received my diagnosis I have experienced great dignity, respect and a caring attitude by all involved. I stayed for 2 nights post-op to allow time for optimum pain control. I was informed of everything at every stage and was involved in my decision making. My consultant visited post-op and was pleased that all went to plan. I am now at home making a steady recovery, but I feel compelled to relay my very grateful thanks to all involved in my care from diagnosis to operation and beyond. The care was fantastic and all my needs were attended to, from pain relief, food, drink, to washing and dressing. I was looked after really well. This experience continues to make me incredibly proud to work for the NHS. Thank you A6 and the doctor's team.
