Big thank you to the team that looked after me yesterday! The sister midwife, the anaesthetists, the health care assistant, the nurse and all the others that looked after me! Even though I was booked in, and there was no bed available when I got there for me, I feel that I received good care. I feel very sad however that all these experts are clearly understaffed and under great pressure. Silly mistakes were made (not by the above) to all 3 ladies in my department, that simply wouldn't have happened if they had more time to do their jobs properly. I know that the NHS is under pressure to keep costs down, but at what cost to the patients? If they had a little more support it would build moral and the department would work better and patients would get a better experience when they are ill and need support. It also shocked me that in a genealogical Department there was no sanitizer on the shower room or toilets. Every time I visited the toilets there was blood on the toilet seat. I definitely think for a small cost you could allow patients to clean up after them selves. Overall I would like to thank the Sonning ward for helping me yesterday, you all deserve a medal for the exceptionally hardwork that you do.
