"Angiogram on the Cardiac Day Ward"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

The two main nurses and staff nurse were wonderful. They were cheerful, knowledgable, kind and caring. They dealt with a lot of patients with good humoured efficiency and worked hard to make it a good, pleasant experience. Despite being run off their feet they were attentive - they didn't even have time to take a break. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the ward had a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The theatre staff were equally friendly and pleasant, creating a calm and dignified atmosphere, where they really tried to put me at my ease, in what in the event turned out to be a very painful and stressful situation for me. Both areas were clean. All staff members introduced themselves and treated me with respect, kindness and concern. My only issues were with some of the rather dated equipment - my bed trolley had a mind of its own and would not lock properly. The blood pressure monitors need to be replaced too, as the cuffs are worn and do not operate properly. I am fairly sure that this was a normal day on the Cardiac Day Unit, but it was my first visit and I would like to thank the staff for their dedication and hard work. Sincere thanks, Michelle Morgan
