I went for an eye test and had a large nose bleed, the optician was not happy! The A@E could not cauterise my nose and I was sent to Derby with a nose clip. It is a shame that they could not do a simple job like this. Some weeks later I was sent from Derby with a cracked spine for recuperation, The staff were excellent, the food was good and nothing could be improved. It is a pity that a day trip to the DRI for an MRI scan resulted in my spine being further damaged so I had to be returned to Derby for treatment. I called in a short time ago to thank the staff for their care and was greeted by name. How do they remember them all?

Thank you for your feedback and the 4 star rating. We always seek to improve the service we offer and wherever possible we aim to extend our range of skills and treatments to best meet our patients individual needs . As some people with nose bleeds can be very unwell even collapsed, if a nose bleed will not stop with our first aid measures we have no alternative but to send people on for a more detailed review which may include specialist review, medicines review, cautery blood tests etc. It is unlikely we will be able to cauterise however one new treatment for nose bleeds is being introduced.
