"Emergency visit to local A & E"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

As it was a Sunday morning It was not possible to speak to my own doctor's surgery. I have COPD and needed to start a course of antibiotics and steriod tablets. Friends insisted that I needed to see a doctor and took me to the local A & E department. It was daunting to see that my wait may be up to 5 hrs but had hardly sat down when my name was called. Throughout the consultation and treatment I was treated so well by the entire staff and in less than two hours was given a prescription for antibiotics. A huge thank you to such a professional team.
