"Lack of humanity"

Some Nurses were wonderful, but the vast majority were terrible there was a severe lacking of common sense and humanity given to patients. Many left to do severe damage to themselves, and a surprising loss/change of notes at these times.

I am genuinely very sorry to hear that this is someone’s experience of our service. I know the staff work tirelessly to support young people who experience high levels of distress. Patient feedback has always commented on the warmth of staff and their supportive approach to young people. As a staff team we try to learn from young people and families/carers on how to improve the service and on the back of surveys and comments we have made numerous changes to improve patient experience. I am more than happy to meet with any young person or parent/carer to look at how the service can learn from this experience and make any necessary changes to support patient care.

Dawn Parker, Unit Manager, Ash Villa.
