My mother has just spent 3 months in MMH and the overall experience has been once again shocking. It took a week and constant reminders that my mother was blind so had to be helped to eat and it was not just a case of "she hasn't eaten"

Also constantly had to remind staff that she is diabetic and requires her insulin before eating and not and hour or two after which was another reason she had not eaten.

My mother was constantly spoken about and not to and on several occasions had to remind staff that she was there and does make sense!

Despite contracting MRSA and C-Diff during her stay the precautionary measures taken were erratic to say the least.

On many occasions despite asking for a bed pan she was left to soil her bed and even left to lay in it a few times, on one time 4 hours despite constant reminders from her.

Was left in her side room with no contact for hours on end and even when some nurses did come in they said nothing before leaving, Surely the visually impaired need more attention/stimulation?

Overall the situation has got even worse than when she was last in MMH five years ago, but I'm sure the "stats" will be made to show otherwise.

I now understand her fear of going to MMH and her keenness to go to St Barts
