What I liked
I came in through A&E for Arrythmia. The staff in A&E treated me well and with sympathy.
What could be improved
I was discharged but never give a cardio appointment, or any other kind of appointment as it was insisted that I was under the endocrine department. The follow up with slow, (months to process test result) and my heart rate was certainly not monitored on the drug I had been prescribed. When I phoned up I was told by the cardio secretary that I would not be seen in cardiology unless the endocrine man wanted to refer me to that department.
Anything else?
Eventually after doing my own research, I got myself referred to Rapid Access Clinic in London at Barts and the London, who were fantastic and sorted out my problem. However I only found out about this by my own research online - via NICE and the Arrythmia Alliance. No information was given out either by K&C or my GP about my condiiton. It was a very stressful 6 months indeed.
