"Video telemetry"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

I spent 7 days in the neuroscience ward, wired up. The adult telemetry team leader was an absolute star. They went above and beyond the call of duty for me. I had no visitors, apart from the Saturday and as I was unable to leave the room, they fetched me DVD's to watch, odd cups of tea, then shampoo, conditoner and a hairdrier on the last day, for me to sort my hair out. There where plenty of staff on the ward and if I needed someone they came asap, this was without me pushing the button on the telemetry box. When I had my seizures, one of the nurses in particular was on the ball and stopped me going into a full blown seizure. The staff who bring the food and drinks where friendly and had a chat. You can see the helipad from the room. If you are going in for the video telemetry dont worry or fear, you are in safe hands, it isnt painful, just a tad boring, but the staff do there best to help pass the time when they can.

Many thanks for this feedback. It is great to hear that a rather boring 7 days were made more comfortable and enjoyable by our attentive staff. As a Trust we aim to go above and beyond the normal call of duty, so it is rewarding to hear that you experienced this first hand. Your positive comments will be passed on.
