"We would have liked further examinations"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / General medicine United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust

(as the patient),

This is a story about a poor girl who has been plagued with disappointment regarding our illustrious NHS! ... Recently without a doubt was the great big glazed cherry on the cake.

This is a very brief discription of the afternoon (leading to the nights) events! ! ! ....To be honest the main reason for our upset and frustration was the waiting time (6 1/2hrs) ... My girlfriend saw 2 doctors in that time, that had obviously not communicated with each other as on my girlfriend being faced with the second doctor, she questioned what was going on (a change in shift.... Understandably, we realise this happens), BUT! ... The passage of information regarding her results were quite clearly not passed on... Hence yet wasting more time gaining my girlfriends results. Both my girlfriend, myself and my two sons were upset not only for the wait, but for the final outcome of the results along with the diagnosis.... At this stage they could not find anything ...they said my girlfried was perfectly fine, and there was nothing to worry about... Nothing was found.

At this point we were expecting further examinations, but no! ... Nothing...Adios, come back another time if your head has fallen off!

My girlfriend is still in an extreme amount of pain and we will be looking at seeking private medical attention in the near future.

On top of all this, when my girlfriend compleated the necessary paperwork due to it being our first visit to the hospital we found that the receptionist had took it upon herself to write down that the man that accompanied her (me) ... Was her father! ! ! ! ... How rude!

Dear Mr. treat like a mug by the NHS

Sorry for the long wait you experienced with your girlfriend during your recent visit to A&E, unfortunately at times of peak activity delays do sometimes occur. If your girlfriend would like us to investigate her concerns with the staff involved we would ask that she contact Sharon Kidd (Sharon.Kidd@ulh.nhs.uk) with her details so I am able to pass her medical concerns to the A&E Consultant to review and I can also investigate the concern regarding the incorrect information appearing on her notes and ensure this is amended.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and we look forward to hearing from you should we need to investigate further.

Karen Hansord – A&E Sister
