"I had my first child at QEQM in ..."

About: Qeqm Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I had my first child at QEQM in June and after being induced I gave birth 20 hours later. The midwifes were exceptionally good throughout my labour and myself and my partner were both kept well informed and I felt i was treated with dignity and respect. Following the birth I had stitches and the theatre team were very reassuring. I then spent a further 5 days in hospital and was reasonably happy with my ongoing care during this time.

What could be improved

The only thing which could have been improved was the speed at which the nurses responded to the buzzer calls; although of course there are priority cases on such a busy maternity ward.
